As a member of the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus you will recieve:

1. A membership to the League of Women Voters of the United States. You will be mailed the National Voter (magazine) four times per year.
   
2. A membership to the League of Women Voters of Ohio. You will be mailed the Ohio Voter four times per year.
   
3. The Metropolitan Columbus Voter, which is mailed 10 times per year.
   
4. A complimentary copy of the Voter Information Bulletin before each general election. Your copy will be mailed to you.
   
5. A complimentary copy of the Central Ohio Civic Directory, which is updated every year. Your copy will be mailed to you.
   
6. Invitations to general meetings, forums, and candidate's forums all across central Ohio, and other League of Women Voters sponsored events, such as our Holiday Auction and our Democracy In Action Award Ceremony (see Units/Meetings page for a complete list of meetings held each year).
   

UNIT MEETINGS: The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus also holds Units meeting during the months of October, November, January, February, and May. Members and guests are welcome to attend the unit meetings. The Educational Events committee plans the programs for each unit meeting and provides speakers and resource people for the focus topic. A Board member provides updates and activities of Metro and plans for future events at each unit meeting. The unit meetings are held each month in the morning, afternoon, and evening, so you can choose the one that is most convenient to you. If you would like further details on the unit meetings, please contact the League office at 614-837-1089.

NATIONAL VOTER, OHIO VOTER, & COLUMBUS VOTER: All three levels of the League publish The Voter, a periodical which discusses things going on at their League, important advocacy issues happening at the national, state, and local levels, and voter service information. It is an excellent way for members to catch up on what is going on with the League.

VOTER INFORMATION BULLETIN (VIB): The VIB is published before each general election and provides nonpartisan information on the candidates and issues that will appear on your ballot on election day. At this time, a VIB is not prepared prior to primary elections.

CENTRAL OHIO CIVIC DIRECTORY: The Central Ohio Civic Directory is an excellent resource provided by the League of Women Voters. It lists all national, state, and local government officials and offices along with their complete contact information.

GENERAL MEETINGS: General meetings are held in September and March. A speaker is invited to discuss an issue that is important at the time.

PUBLIC FORUMS: The League hosts public forums when we feel it is necessary to inform the public of an issue. For example, in the spring of 2005, the League hosted a forum where we invited speakers to come and provide educational information on the proposed budget and how they felt the budget would effect central Ohio citizens.

CANDIDATE FORUMS: Along with the Franklin County Consortium for Good Government, the League hosts several candidate forums prior to the general election. These forums are held all across central Ohio. Please see the Voter Info page for further information.
