Democracy In Action
Each spring since 1992, the League has honored one or more central Ohioans with its premier award, Democracy In Action. This award is given to outstanding citizens who make central Ohio a more democratic place to live – a place where anyone can take part in the political process.
In recent years, the Democracy In Action awards ceremony has filled the Ohio Statehouse Atrium with concerned citizens who believe that democracy is not a spectator sport. We come together to celebrate local citizens’ invaluable contributions to the civic life of Columbus. Read more about the 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 honorees.
