We recently observed a National Day of Prayer in Ohio, on the grounds of the Statehouse supported by our governor and mayor, even though the statute that calls for a National Day of Prayer was ruled unconstitutional. How does this affect our understanding of freedom of religion and freedom of speech when both rights are claimed at the same time? Can politics be free from religion?
