Census 2010 demands that everyone be counted

Thursday, May 14, 2009

With the 2010 Census less than a year away, the League of Women Voters is active in the national effort to ensure everyone is counted.

At the national level, the League is partnering with the 2010 Census, NALEO (National Association of Latino Elected Officials), and the broader “Ya es Hora, Hagase Contar” (“It Is Time, Make Yourself Count”) campaign.

The national office has launched a Census web page, with additional resources to be added in the coming weeks. Several state Leagues, including Ohio, have begun developing on-the-ground coalitions to make sure local Census needs are being met.

If you are interested in starting efforts related to the 2010 census, contact your regional office for specific local information.
