Take the League's democracy survey
Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010
The following is an invitation from League of Women Voters national president Mary G. Wilson.
In 2010, the stakes couldn’t be higher for citizens like you and me. Government and democracy must be open and honest if it is to continue to work for all Americans.
That’s why I need you to make your voice heard by taking the League’s democracy survey.
2010 will shape the political landscape for the next decade. And as the nation’s most respected, nonpartisan political organization, the League is leading the charge to stop special interests from freezing citizens out of the debate in this decisive year for our democracy.
- We are making sure every American is counted in this year’s Census … which for the next 10 years will impact representation in Congress, in every state legislature, and in every local legislative body.
- With the critical midterm elections quickly approaching, the League is fighting at the federal, state, and local levels to protect your vote and expand citizen participation in our democracy.
- The League is mobilizing its vast network of more than 150,000 grassroots activists and supporters to bring next year’s redistricting process out of the political backroom and into the public eye.
To succeed on all of these fronts in our 90th anniversary year, the League needs the input of citizens like you. By participating in this short survey, you will join other League supporters in helping us strengthen and refine our citizen-led campaigns to make our government more responsive to the needs of the American people.
Please, don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice heard – complete your survey today. I look forward to hearing your views.
Mary G. Wilson
President, League of Women Voters of the United States
