Holiday auction's success relies on generosity of many
Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008
Sunday's holiday auction and brunch raised just over $3,000 for the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus.
Auctioneer Brent Taggart as Indiana Jones
Nancy and Bob Brown opened their home at Miranova for the annual celebration, which featured both live and silent auctions.
Auctioneer and 2008 member of the year Brent Taggart put a humorous spin on the political news of the last year and generously donated $532.64 -- the total of his Election Day earnings as a poll worker over the past few years. Brent and Beth Taggart also donated the use of their cabin in Hocking Hills as an auction item.
The League's board members extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Browns and the Taggarts for their contributions. The following members also donated auction items:
- Gloria Davis
- Pat Larson
- Judith Bird
- Ann Henkener
- Janyce Katz
- Suzanne and Rich Fahey
- David McCoy
- Valerie Rake
- David Buzzee
- Joan Lawrence
- Metro Columbus League board of trustees
- Ohio League Lobby Corps
Lucy Buzzee served as event chair, with committee support from Mary Kaul and Joy Rose.
